There was a time, not that long ago, when the possibility that humankind could dramatically alter the Earth’s atmosphere and cause mass extinction of species was considered impossibility. Yet today, this devastation not only affects the animals and the earth, it takes a heavy toll on our psychic health and wellbeing. We are connected to other living things at a deeply energetic and spiritual level, so it is no wonder that people are experiencing emotional and psychic pain. In addition, we spend so little timeout in nature that we are forgetting what it is like to be close to nature.
In most indigenous cultures, people who are responsible for taking the life of an animal are also responsible for honoring its spirit and even calling for its return to the Earth. They also routinely express gratitude for mother Earth and all of her children.
This Catriona leads group events of “Singing the Animals Back to Life” as convocation to honor the animal’s spirits – both living and dead – and to send healing energy to the Earth.
